Tronky by Ferrerro

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

So excited to share this with you! My friend’s mom went on vacation last month and bought this. From the makers of Ferrero Rocher, Tronky is a chocolate and wafer bar available in Italy. Just the thought of people considering my font on any product delights me and to see and hold it makes me so happy. I can now say that Ferrero uses my font. I can’t believe it.

Lumpiang Shanghai

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Ready to roll lumpia. I don’t know why there’s a lemon in this picture.

Ew. It looks burnt. As always, they didn’t turn out tight enough. Every time I make this, I swear, they end up so loosely rolled. I don’t know what the secret is. It’s very frustrating. I end up tearing the wrapper trying to roll these tightly. This happens to my sushi too. :( Help me.

Pavlova picture

I made this Australian dessert with the help of a Nintendo DS cooking game. Somebody stop me from finishing the entire plate. There’s a cup of sugar in this thing.

Update 9/29/10 Hi readers. Here’s the recipe for Pavlova for 4.

Make a meringe with 4 egg whites and 1/4 c. confectioner’s sugar, 2 tsp. lemon juice and dash of vanilla extract. Fold in 1 tbsp. cornstarch. Pour onto parchment paper and shape into a cake. Bake low and slow–255°F for 1 1/2 hrs. Set aside.

Whip up 1 1/4 c. cream and 3/4 c. confectioner’s sugar. Pour onto cooled meringue and top with sliced kiwi, strawberries and blueberries. Enjoy!

kiwi sliced lengthwise

I’ve always wanted to cut kiwi lengthwise. I felt so rebellious. Ahahhah

Goodbye heelless leather sandals

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

Last month the leather snapped off and no nailing or supergluing could put it back together. I’ve discarded this pair since. I miss wearing them. Unbelievably, I never fell with these on. I can’t say the same for the other creations that followed.

One-toothed geta

I customized these Japanese wooden slippers by adding a 4 inch tooth to the soles. I also painted them black and moved the strap off-center. They’re surprisingly easy to walk in. Standing still is another story. What I do is tilt one slipper forward and rest the heel of the other foot on the lowered front of the other.
